Name: Granaccia Colline Savonesi Igt Reserve
Grape variety: Granaccia 100% (Alicante)
Area of production: approximately half a hectare of cultivated vineyard, on steep slopes of terraced hillsides, at the edge of a pine forest that overlooks the ancient village of Quiliano (SV). The red earth and scaly mixture gives a great personality to the wine.
Exposure: south
Vine system: Guyot. The age of the vines in this vineyard varies between 15 and 20 years and the rows undergo a severe thinning at the time of the veraison.
Harvest: The grapes are selected and gathered in small pierced cases in the third ten-day period of September.
Winemaking: Traditional red winemaking, with crushing and fermentation at a controlled temperature (26°C). Maceration with the skins for about 10 days with several replacements made per day to facilitate the extraction of colour.
Maturation: Produced only during favourable vintages. Following fermentation, the wine spends approximately one year in small barrels, then is held in steel containers for approximately 6 months before being bottled.
Aging: After bottling, the wine rests for at least 6 months before being released onto the market.
Alcohol: 14% vol.
Tasting notes: Has a bright red garnet colour with orange reflections and a slightly mineral, airy and fine aroma that recalls forest fruits and sweet spices such as cinnamon and vanilla. The taste is full, warm and elegant; the end is long and pleasant. To be tasted with baked pasta, mast rabbit and poultry, mature cheeses.
